Chinese engineer hurt over trifle

TOBA TEK SINGH, April 30: A Chinese engineer suffered injuries on Saturday during a scuffle with a police constable over a trifle near Gojra. Reports said police had been deployed for security of Chinese engineers who were constructing Faisalabad-Multan Motorway (M-4). Constable Tauqeer Sarwar hit a stray dog and Mr Thayo disliked his act.

Both exchanged harsh words and came to blows. As a result Thayo sustained injuries and was rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital.

DPO Ahsan Younis has deputed DSP Rana Muhammad Abid for an inquiry into the incident.

STRIKE: District bar association and Gojra tehsil bar members observed a complete strike on Saturday to condemn the murder of former chairman of Sindh Bar Council Ali Muhammad Dahri in Nawabshah.

A local bar office-bearers' meeting was also held with president Mian Farrukh Iqbal in the chair which passed a resolution demanding immediate arrest of the killers.

OUTAGES: Traders continued protest on second consecutive day on Saturday against 20-hour unscheduled outages.
