Police inspector convicted for blasphemy
KASUR: District and Sessions Additional Judge Umer Hayat on Friday handed down life term with a fine of Rs 200,000 to a police inspector involved in a blasphemy case. The convict will have to undergo an additional one-year imprisonment in case he fails to pay the fine. According to the prosecution, Inspector Shah Jahan had passed blasphemous remarks in February 2009, for which Raja Jang Police Station had registered a case against him.
