Bridegroom meets a gloomy end

SWABI, March 31: A 28-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself on the day of his marriage in Alladher village of Chota Lahor tehsil on Thursday. Nisar Khan, who returned a week ago from Saudi Arabia, was forced by his parents to marry a girl against his will, causing him to take the extreme step. He shot himself with a pistol. CHILD DIES ON ROAD: A seven-year-old child was knocked to death by an over-speeding car near Baja village. The child was crossing the Swabi-Topi road when he was hit by the car. Driver of the vehicle fled the scene. IGP VISIT: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fayyaz Ahmed Toru on Thursday visited the place of the Wednesday`s suicide attack on the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F caravan near Swabi Interchange on Peshawarâ€"Islamabad Motorway, said police officials. The IGP inspected the place of the blast and the local police officials briefed him about the incident. He was told that when the in-charge of the Khunda police post Sardar Ali and constable Qaisar attempted to stop a man after getting suspicious about him he blew himself up. The police officials prevented a big disaster by sacrificing their lives.
