Body formed to solve Lakki village problems

LAKKI MARWAT, March 31: The residents of Dallokhel village have formed a committee to launch concerted efforts for provision of gas and resolution of other problems of the village.

In this connection, a meeting was held in the village on Thursday, which was also attended by former nazims, elders, retired officials and notables.

The villagers constituted Islahi Committee Dallokhel and besides other office-bearers they nominated former nazim Mohammad Johar and Jehanzeb Khan as its president and general secretary, respectively.

The office-bearers said that they would launch a peaceful struggle for resolution of the problems of village people. They said that Dallokhel was located two kilometres from Lakki city, but its residents had been kept deprived of the gas facility.

In this regard, the committee members said that they would meet their public representatives and put pressure on them to ensure solution to their problems. They also called upon the authorities of SNGPL to extend gas facility to the village.

SCHOOL BAGS DISTRIBUTED: The Al-Khidmat Foundation, a wing of

Jamaat-i-Islami, on Thursday distributed school bags and other items among students of Working Folks Grammar Higher Secondary School, Naurang, and Faiz Model High School, Lakki city.

Students belonging to workers` families were also given notebooks, geometry boxes, gift packs and food packages.

Speaking on the occasion, the foundation`s district president Abdul Ghaffar said that they would provide assistance to children of poor families so that they could continue their education.

Working folks school principal Arif Kamal and FMHS principal Faiz Mohammad thanked the foundation for helping poor students to smoothly continue their education.

ARRESTED: Tajori police arrested an outlaw on Thu rsday. An official said that following a tip-off, a police contingent raided the house of proclaimed absconder Sahibullah in Tajori town and took him into custody.

The official said that police also recovered a Kalashnikov from the possession of Sahibullah, who was wanted to them in several cases. Another outlaw identified as Wali Rehman of Bettanni tribe, meanwhile, surrendered to police in Tajori police station.
