Zafar misusing SC name: Kamil

LAHORE, April 13: Kamil Ali Agha, information secretary of the PML-Q, on Wednesday drew the attention of Supreme Court towards acts of an FIA official that, according to him, amounted to contempt of court. Agha also accused FIA additional director-general Zafar Qureshi of implicating women of a political family in baseless and fabricated cases by using the Supreme Court's name. He said after failing to prove Moonis Elahi's involvement in the NICL scam, Qureshi had started victimising Moonis's wife and other women of his family. He said the official had not only investigated personal accounts of these women but had also gone way beyond his limits by being instrumental in freezing the account of Moonis's wife, especially when Moonis's name was not mentioned in the FIR. He appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take notice of this persecution of women and stop the FIA official from misusing the apex court's name. Agha also alleged that Qureshi was misusing the name of the Supreme Court verbally as well as in his correspondence to influence his colleagues. He requested the CJP to reprimand Qureshi and direct officials concerned to take measures to undo these wrongs.
