Wapda breeze into semis

LAHORE, March 28: Title holders Wapda breezed into the semi-final of the 46th National volleyball championship, defeating Punjab in one-sided match at the Wapda Sports Complex here on Monday.

Wapda, who are unbeaten in the tournament, ousted Punjab with the score of 25-18, 25-17, 25-10, spending 75 minutes on the court.

For Wapda, Irfan Nawaz, Farooq Khan and Zaheer Khan executed fine games, while Abuzar and Mohammad Kashif caught the eyes from the Punjab side.

Police toppled Navy in another three sets match with the score being 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

Army carved out a win against Railways with the score line of 25-20, 25-14, 25-17 in 67 minutes.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) routed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after a thrill-less battle as the scoreboard was showing the result 25-10, 25-19, 25-14.
