| LAHORE, March 28: Inspector General of Punjab Police Javed Iqbal has said the inspection, internal accountability, merit, discipline and training are the basic tools for better policing to combat terrorism and curb crime from society. He said the new ASPs should follow these priorities while entering the professional life. Addressing trainee ASPs of the 37th common cause, including three females, at the CPO here on Monday, the police chief said they should focus on curbing crimes by establishing friendly relations between the police and the public. The IG said the government was paying special attention to organise the police force on modern lines by equipping it with latest technology and training for providing more security to the lives and property of the people. He asked the ASPs to ensure easy access of people to the police. Additional IG (Operations) Rafiq Hasan, Additional IG (Training) Sarmad Saeed, Additional IG (Special branch) Nasir Khan Durrani and Additional IG (Investigation) Azam Joyia also spoke. Later, the IG presented a shield to National Police Academy Deputy Commandant Malik Muhammad Afzal. |
