Karachi, Punjab face gas shortfall after sabotage

JAFFARABAD: Suspected militants on Monday blew up a 22-inch diameter gas pipeline, suspending gas supply to Karachi and some parts of Punjab.Officials say the suspects planted explosives on the pipeline in the Malguzar area of district Jaffarabad.A portion of gas pipeline was destroyed and fire erupted at the site of the blast.Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) spokesman said the act of sabotage has caused a shortfall of 190 million cubic feet in the system.
