Students protest ‘misconduct’ by exam superintendent

TIMERGARA, March 31: Students of the government high school Ramora on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the superintendent of the school examination hall and chanted slogans against him. The protesting students were demanding of the Malakand board authorities to immediately suspend the official who they alleged was demanding money and gifts from them.
They said the official's conduct with candidates was also not good. The protesting students warned to lock up the examination hall if the official was not suspended.
Later, controller of examinations Jehan Dad Shah Marwat took notice of the matter and promised to probe the matter. He said strict action would be taken against the hall superintendent if found guilty.
SHOT DEAD: A man identified as Noor Hakim Khan was killed when he was offering 'Isha' prayer in a mosque at Nauabad Munda on Wednesday night, police told Dawn.
They said unknown men shot him dead and escaped from the scene. The family had no enmity with anyone, police said, adding the motive behind the crime could not be ascertained. The deceased was brother of Arif Gul advocate, a JI activist.
BODY FOUND: Body of a 28-year-old man was found in the fields of Khwajal village near Tazagram on Thursday, residents and police said.
They said locals informed the Ouch police about the body. The police shifted the body for postmortem to the tehsil headquarters hospital Chakdara but the deceased could not be identified. Police said the man had been axed to death.
CRACKDOWN: The Pesco Dir division on Thursday devised a strategy to carry out a crackdown against power thieves, sources told Dawn.
They said a meeting in that regard was held with XEN Peer Aurang Zeb in the chair, which decided to launch crackdown against power thieves from Friday.
