Fashion: Look hot this summer

Summer has been testing our tolerance with its continuously rising temperatures. You cannot step out in fear of sun burn, but can't even sit at home due to load shedding. The best way to kill time is such circumstances is to chill at a café nearby with a couple of friends, coworkers or siblings. But you can't step out of the house without following the basic rules of fashion. So here's what you need to know to stay stylish this summer.

With summer comes lawn craze
There's no denying that the most comfortable thing that you can ever wear in the summer is lawn. It's also one of the first things most women think about when the summer approaches. Many argue that its clichéd, common and all over the place, but then how and what you make out of the fabric depends entirely on you.

Gone are the days when lawn catered to the 'desi' clothing market; today the young generation is being extremely innovative with lawn and making very creative designs out of it. From long shirts to tops, kurtis, frocks, kaftans, dresses and even skirts, everything is being made out of lawn, and the possibilities are endless.

Kaftans
Kaftans have made a comeback and they are the included in the elements of a perfect summer wardrobe. After all, they are flattering and functional. This year your summer wardrobe must have at least one kaftan. Short kaftans can be paired with skinny jeans while proper long ones are paired with loose pants. These flowy, flirty creations and designs suit the current climate perfectly and work well in almost all situations. They are great for formal events, get-togethers, dinners, parties and slightly casual ones can even be worn randomly when heading out of the house.

Jeans—'skinees' and nothing else
The heading pretty much describes it all. These skin tights have taken the summer fashion scene by storm and one thing you really need to know about 'skinees' is that the day they get loose you need to get rid of them. People usually keep wearing them even when they get loose, but that's really a fashion crime. Besides they don't look good. However, when you're getting skinees please make sure you are the right size as you don't want people calling you a hunchie mama with a bubble butt!

Prêt wear—everywhere
For those who can't bother to first go and shop for materials and then run after tailors, prêt wear is the best option. These days there is a lot of variety when it comes to prêt and off the rack options so you don't need to worry. Even the lawn brands have started offering readymade so just imagine the variety available in the markets.

As far as western wear is concerned, there was never a problem. Various brands bring you funky T shirts and loose dresses which can be paired with jeans or tights as per preference. For western party wear, satin dresses and tops in colours like red, black and beige are really in fashion and considered the hottest dresses.

Hair affair
Summer is all about being hip and sassy and that can't be done without stressing on your tresses. However, the best thing about this summer is that you really don't have to stress a lot on hair. Short hair is in—thanks to Rihanna. So it's definitely time to get a haircut, which will also help you in coping with the torturous heat.

Straightening hair is another torture in the summer so here's good news: this summer wavy hair is as in as straight hair. So all you need to do to look hip is apply mousse on your hair after washing and tie them up. Open after a bit and your hair will go curly and sexy in absolutely no time.

Shades all the way
It goes without saying that summer accessories are incomplete without shades and this season the bigger and funkier your shades are, the better they look. Not only are they in vogue and an extremely hot fashion accessory, but they also hide your dark circles and make you look absolutely fresh and set to go. Oversized shades are what you should look for.

And while you stock up all these things to look nothing less than a diva, don't forget that confidence is the most attractive thing you can ever wear. Here's wishing you a stylish summer.
