LAHORE, Feb 23: A 23-year-old woman died by suicide at her Factory Area residence on Wednesday, police said. Maryam Bibi, of Madina Colony, hanged herself with a ceiling fan as, according to a suicide note found on her, Maryam's husband Ali used to torture her over petty issues, said a police official. FOUND DEAD: A 60-year-old man was found strangled in his quarter in Nishtar Colony on Wednesday. The police were alerted about foul smell omitting from the quarter of a labourer, Ashiq Husain. The police broke open the door and found Ashiq dead with multiple head injuries. He was strangled with a telephone wire, the police said adding the intruders also damaged his head with a hammer. The body was sent to the morgue.  — Staff Reporter
