14 injured in Hub blast

QUETTA, Feb 6: Fourteen people, among them a policeman and two children, were injured when a bomb exploded near a mosque in the industrial town of Hub on Sunday.

Sources said that some people had planted the bomb on a road close to the main mosque of the town, which went off when people were preparing for prayers.

Lasbela Deputy Commissioner Asfandyar Khan said it was a locally-made device.

He said three seriously injured men, identified as Sa`adur Rehman, Asad and Mohammad Hussain, were taken to Karachi.

The blast damaged windowpanes of the mosque, Tehsildar`s office and nearby houses. Police launched a search operation in the town after the incident and arrested some suspects for questioning.
