MARDAN, May 2: All goods and adda owners association has rejected the recent increase in petroleum products by the Oil and Gas Regularity Authority and demanded of the government to withdraw the decision forthwith in larger interest of the poor people. Strongly condemning decision of the government, they said the surge in petroleum products would increase problems for transporters community. They made it clear that the move would compel transporters to increase the fares which would directly affect general public. They regretted that increase in petroleum products would further push the poor to the wall as they were already facing inflation, unemployment, poverty and poor law and order. They said the government would have to revise the petroleum prices otherwise the transporters would start wheel-jam strike from May 22 throughout the country. They stated that the government should curb corruption and cut its own expenditures to raise revenues instead of creating problems for the poor. |
