ECP gives govt 24 hours to remove SBP deputy chief
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), while taking serious notice of the non-implementation of its directives, on Wednesday gave Ministry of Finance 24 hours to remove State Bank of Pakistan Deputy Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra and submit the compliance report. The ECP, taking notice of the appointment of Wathra in violation of the ban imposed by ECP on fresh recruitments, had sought government's point of view over violation of electoral body's directives.
