UCs told to update record by May 15

LAHORE, April 30: Punjab local government secretary Khizer Hayat Gondal has directed all union councils of the provincial capital to complete pending work relating to registration of births, deaths and marriages, and update the relevant record till May 15. According to a handout issued here on Saturday, Mr Gondal directed UC secretaries to seek cooperation of parents, notables, teachers, watchmen, lady health visitors, lumberdars, maternity centres, clerics and NGOs in this regard. He said the record was the most important with regard to verifying documents such as country's citizenship, marriages and deaths.
