Boy electrocuted

RAWALPINDI, May 1: A boy was electrocuted near his home in Koral while three women were killed in separate incidents in the city's outskirts on Sunday, police said.

Zafar Mehmood, the father of 10-year-old Abdul Rehman,  said his son was playing cricket with his friends on the rooftop on his house when he suffered an electric shock from the high voltage wires crossing over the house. The injured boy was taken to Pims where he was pronounced dead.

In another incident, Sidra Bibi was shot dead allegedly by her uncle in Dhoke Sarf Deen on Sunday.

Sidra, 22, was recently divorced and was living with her parents. Police said her uncle Mohammad Ilyas opened fire at her, killing her on the spot and escaped.

Similarly, a girl was killed after her brother's pistol she was carrying went off accidentally at her home in Saddar Barooni.

Quoting the brother, Abdul Samad Khan, police said he received a call from home about his sister getting injured as the pistol went off. He said she was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where she was declared dead. The investigating officer said the 21-year-old victim was mentally ill.
