An army statement said the air-launched missile was fired on Friday. It said the missile, named Hatf-VIII, was developed in Pakistan and has a range of 220 miles (350 kilometres). Pakistan routinely tests nuclear-capable missiles that are designed to match those of nuclear-armed India. The two nations have fought three wars since gaining independence from Britain in 1947. |
