| FAISALABAD, April 14: Three people including a woman were gunned down over land disputes in two different incidents on Thursday. In the first incident, two groups, respectively led by Siddique Jutt and Ibrar traded fire in Chak 501-GB, in the limits of Mamonkanjan police station, over the possession of a piece of land. During the crossfire, two men of Jutt group, identified as Shah Din of Chak 558-GB and Abdul Ghafoor suffered bullet injuries. Shah Din died on the spot while Ghafoor was shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. No arrest was made so far. In the second incident, a woman, Rehana, was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists near Al-Fatah Sports Complex, in the precincts of People`s Colony police station. The attackers managed to flee. The injured was shifted to the district headquarters hospital where she died. Police said the deceased had won a civil suit against his step son pertaining to a piece of land on Wednesday. WARDENS: A warden said a man had violated the traffic signal in front of the Rescue 15 office a few days ago and warden Tasawar asked him for documents. The driver instead misbehaved with the warden and threatened him with consequences. In the ensuing developments, Sub-Inspector Muzammil Husain, head of the centre, reprimanded the warden and later banned wardens` entrance to the building. Now, notices inscribed with "Wardens` entrance to the building banned" have been displayed by the building. Police sources said no officers could ban the entry of a government employee to any public building. TORTURE: Police took into custody Aamir Khalid, 22, from his Jamil Park house after his neighbour Javed accused him of stealing a blanket from his house. Family said police subjected Khalid to torture and then informed them about his deteriorating condition. He was shifted to the Allied Hospital on Wednesday night where he was pronounced dead. Police said Khalid was neither taken into custody nor tortured. |
