| GUJAR KHAN, April 15: A five-year old blind murder case was solved and the police arrested three alleged killers who had reportedly confessed that they killed a shopkeeper in Narrali village in 2006. While briefing the media men here on Friday, DSP Raja Tahir Bashir said that Imran Akbar alias Mani, a drug addict, shot injured Dr Mian Muhammad Iqbal in Narrali village on April 1. The Jatli police arrested him and started investigation. He said that Imran Akbar, during interrogation, revealed that he along with his two accomplices killed Muhammad Aslam, a shopkeeper of the same village on Dec 10, 2006. He said that a murder case had already been registered with the police against the unknown killers. On his revelation, his two other accomplices Arsalan and Muhammad Bilal alias Bali, residents of the same village were arrested. They also confessed that they had murdered Muhammad Aslam, the DSP said. He said that these three alleged killers were also involved in various other crimes in the area as further investigation was underway. While giving details about another case, DSP Raja Tahir said that Nadeem, a motor rickshaw driver was found dead at a deserted place near his village Mohri Khatril on April 3. The police arrested Muhammad Asif of the same village on suspicion who revealed that he had stabbed Nadeem to death after he had resisted his sexual assault. The police also recovered the dagger used in the crime. DSP Tahir Bashir said that a number of incidents of armed robberies, burglaries, car snatching and bike theft had been traced and over 25 outlaws involved in these criminal activities had been arrested. He said that the police also arrested 31 proclaimed offenders and 76 court absconders. |
