Robbery victim succumbs to injury

RAWALPINDI, March 30: Khan Nisar, who was injured the previous day by robbers at his house, died at DHQ Hospital on Wednesday, police said. Khan Nisar's skull was fractured when three policemen beat him and his wife with a hockey stick at his home. He was shifted to the hospital in critical condition. Though his wife tried to rescue her husband, she was overpowered by the intruders who made off with Rs200,000 cash. After regaining her senses, the victim's wife Mrs Yasmeen identified one of the culprits that led to the arrest of Amir, who was performing guard duty at Police College Sihala. His two accomplices, constables Khurram and Munday Khan, were still at large. Meanwhile, a man was killed after being run over by a vehicle outside a hospital near Morgah. Noman Arshad, who along with his brother Sohail Arshad was going to hospital to visit his ailing father when he was hit by a recklessly-driven vehicle. The injured was shifted to the DHQ Hospital where he died.
