LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, on Saturday vowed to keep working on implementing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) 10-point reforms agenda with or without Nawaz's help, and rejected the idea of mid-term elections, DawnNews reported.

The prime minister was speaking at a school function in Mureed K, Punjab.

Gilani, before Nawaz's decision of parting ways with PPP, appealed to the main opposition party to shun confrontation that had in the past harmed democracy and democratic institutions. This much was also clear from the official handout issued after the meeting with CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif which said that the prime minister told the PML-N leadership that "supreme national interests demand sagacity as well as continuance of engagements through dialogue among all the political forces of the country to provide a solid base for strengthening democratic institutions".
