ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday categorically stated that central and provincial governments would not hinder the court proceedings regarding Raymond Davis, who killed two Pakistanis in Lahore last week.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House, Malik said that Davis’ fate would be decided by the court.

He expressed ignorance about putting the name of Davis on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Regarding progress on the Mumbai attack case, he said that Pakistan is not delaying the investigation, rather India was creating hurdles for access to the judicial commission.

Referring to the tight security measures put in place in Karachi, the minister said there was a sharp decline in the cases of target killing.

He out rightly stated that the government has no plans to amend the blasphemy laws.
