| LAHORE, April 17: The Forman Christian College University's mass communication department is organising a three-day 4th Vasaakh documentary film festival on varsity campus from Monday (today). As many as 24 delegations, including five foreign, from 21 universities are participating in the film festival. Notable foreign universities invited to the festival include University of Oslo, Norway; Delhi University, India; University of Bhopal, India; and Katmandu University, Nepal. The festival will showcase student documentaries based on cultural themes and content. The best documentary will be rewarded. The three-day event also includes a competition among young film/documentary makers, screening of South Asia's best documentaries, training sessions on video productions, discussion sessions and a concluding award ceremony and cultural evening.Mass communication department head Dr Saleem Abbas says the Vasaakh film festival is an annual feature of the college and provides a platform for students to exhibit their talent and creativity in the field of film-making. |
