He said that the CDA pumped out 21 million gallon water per day (MGD) from Simly Dam and 8 MGD from Khanpur Dam to meet city`s domestic water needs.

He said that the demand of water had increased with the advent of summer, therefore, the authority had already made a plan to avoid any shortage and one million gallon stored water would be supplied every month during the peak summer season.Aman said that the CDA had installed an express feeder with the cost of Rs6.3 million on the directives of CDA Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi to meet the growing demand of the water.

He said that the feeder started functioning last week as it was running 22 tube wells round the clock fulfilling the water needs of Sectors I-9 and I-10 which were the worst affected sectors of the water shortage.— APP
