| LAHORE, April 15: A senior cameraman of the Pakistan Television (PTV) was manhandled and thrashed on Friday allegedly by some employees of a media group for making footage of encroachments raised in front of their offices.
According to PTV's Lahore centre sources, Muhammed Yousaf was performing his official duty when some employees of the media group started beating him. They also snatched camera and other equipment from Yousaf and took out the film from the camera. Some passers-by intervened and rescued him. The sources said an application had been filed with the Civil Lines police station against unknown people for registration of an FIR. PTV Employees Union President Jehangir Khan has condemned the incident and urged the government to take stern action against the culprits.–APP |
